I'm CArme Porcel, one of the speakers., First I'd like to thank APAC for giving me the opportunity to share my esperience working with films in class with other colleagues. I'm really satisfied of the results, most of the assistants told me they had enjoyed the talk and that it was useful and interesting. It was a really rewarding experience for me. I also would like to congratulate APAC for the organization and help I got from everybody there, and for the great programme. I loved Jeremy Harmer's opening talk, I agree blending the new and the old is the "answer" to teaching English today. From my point of view it's no use trying to invent the uninvented when we have so many resources available, both technological and "teacher-created". We , English teachers, are imaginative and creative and that's the best tool to use.
It was also very important for me to meet Michael Swan, and have my Practical English Usage book (a first edition from 1980) signed by him. It was an honour and I'd like to thank him for it. It was the first book I bought when I was a young student of English by then. Listening to him was a great pleasure for my ears and my brain. Well, as I said in my talk, I'll go on getting pregnant of ideas and putting them into practice for my students to learn lots of English. Thanks, APAC, Friday was one of the best professional days in my life.
My name is Natàlia and I'm a primary teacher. I would like to congratulate APAC for such a wonderful convention. It is always a pleasure to meet colleagues and not feel alone.
Apart from the fantastic organization, that everybody agrees, I would like to underline the talks of Jeremy Harmer, Gavin Dudeney and especially Julia Dawes, a very positive surprise.
Finally, what we have to conclude from this convention is that our children belong to the Information Society and we must take it into account.
Now let's count down until the next convention.
APAC 2009 was a great conference. Quite apart from the generous welcome of the Catalan attendees (which was incredibly enjoyable for me), I was able to follow a technology 'thread' of talks which taught me a lot and gave me much to reflect on! It was great to hook up with friends and colleagues old and new in one the greatest cities in Europe!
I'm Susan Dreger, one of the speakers talking about 'wikis'. I would like to thank APAC for having me and letting me share my experiences with wikis. It's always nice to find other teachers who have the same interests and have much to say and share so in general I can say that the conference was beneficial and helpful. I also enjoyed Jeremy Harmer's open speech and truly agree that we have to keep a happy balance between the old and the new. It was a pleasure for me to meet and speak to so many interesting people. Food for the soul... Thanks once again to APAC and I hope to attend again next year.
